Cherry Bourbon Sour
Lemon juice cuts the sweetness of this bourbon-based cocktail, while the muddled Luxardo cherries at the bottom of the glass make for a delicious finish. Find these Italian-made cherries in specialty stores or online. They aren’t your typical maraschinos; we wouldn’t recommend substituting the bright red variety. For a true Cape May experience, enjoy in the sun.
How to make it
- 2 oz bourbon
- 4 Luxardo cherries with syrup
- .75oz lemon juice
- .5oz simple syrup
In a rocks glass, muddle the cherries and cherry syrup, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Add the bourbon. Add fresh ice to the glass and garnish with a lemon slice.
Bartender’s Tip
Cape Resorts recommends Buffalo Trace Bourbon, a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey.
