Fig Sidecar and Leo’s Blackberry Smash
Leo from The Ebbitt Room shares two of his favorite winter cocktails to warm up any holiday party (or evening on the couch)! Both drinks feature preserves from Beach Plum Farm.
The Virginia Fig Sidecar
“A true farm-to-table cocktail featuring fig preserves from our Beach Plum Farm located in West Cape May! A great classic cocktail to be enjoyed fireside! Add more jam for a sweeter-tasting drink.” -Leo
How to make it
- 2oz Courvoisier VS Cognac
- 1/2 oz orange liqueur
- 1/4 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon Beach Plum Farm fig preserves
- Fresh fig and orange peel for garnish
A classic winter martini with a twist! Simply mix the above ingredients over ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and double strain into a nick and nora glass. Garnish with a fresh fig and orange twist.
Leo’s Blackberry Smash
“One of my go-to cocktails during the winter, and a great cocktail for bourbon lovers and those hesitant to try bourbon alike. The combination of fresh lemon, honey, and blackberry preserves from our Beach Plum Farm adds just enough sweetness to please everyone. It’s simple but delicious!” – Leo
How to make it
- 2oz Redemption bourbon
- ¼ oz fresh squeezed lemon
- ¼ oz Beach Plum Farm honey
- 1 Tablespoon Beach Plum Farm blackberry preserves
For those who prefer their cocktails on the rocks, the Blackberry Smash is a great winter sipper to keep you warm during the cold months. The cocktail is built by adding all ingredients into a cocktail shaker over ice, vigorously stirring with a cocktail spoon, single straining over fresh ice, and is served in a rocks glass.
